In March 2020 the BTO launched their Chaffinch Appeal to raise funds to help them research why the UK population of Chaffinch is undergoing a significant decline.

The BOS has produced a report which uses their survey data to determine the local status of Chaffinch and to compare it with the national situation using BTO data.
