West Papua – a Birds of Paradise Adventure - Mike Pollard
Last September Mike finally achieved his lifelong birding ambition to visit the island of Papua and experience the displays of some of the fabulous Birds of Paradise. He joined a group tour to West Papua organised by Wise Birding, visiting four different areas including swampy lowland forests, majestic mountains and idyllic islands surrounded by coral reefs.
He will share his highlights of this fabulous country, and the experience of birding with his fellow group members and the brilliant local guides. Having spent many hours crouched in rustic hides (!) he has a good selection of photos of some of those star ‘BoPs’, and many other highlights. It was certainly quite an adventure!
