"30 by 30" – Bringing our wildlife back - Ian Jelley, Director of Landscape Recovery, Warwickshire Wildlife Trust
The UK is one of the most nature-depleted countries on Earth and 16% of all of our species are under threat from extinction as a result of human activity. So what can we do? The Wildlife Trusts believe in the science that demonstrates if 30% of the UK land and sea supports nature then our nature will recover.
Locally Warwickshire Wildlife Trust are driving forward the 30% idea as part of their Strategy 2030 or 30by30. They're working with farmers, councils, golf courses and other businesses that manage land to help make space for nature and enable people to take action for wildlife. As a society we shouldn't have to choose between nature's recovery and modern living, we can do both. In this talk we will explore how the Trust are collaborating with others to enable farmers to support nature whilst still growing high quality food, councils to support nature whilst providing access to greenspaces for recreation and how every one of us can play our part. For nature to recover we need a movement of change, and by coming along to hear more you are part of that movement. Together, we can bring our wildlife back!
