West Midlands Ringing Group pioneered thermal technology for bird surveys, winning the BTO Marsh Ward in 2021 for innovative technology.  The WMRG believe necessity drives innovation and this resulted in the revolutionary development of thermal imaging technology within ornithology.  

Join us as Ben takes you on our journey with thermal across a variety of applications and surveys, which has given an insight to what birds use our land at night, and how we’ve been able to learn more about species previously difficult to study, which will be followed by a Q&A session.
